Catherine Tresa  (born 10 September 1989) is an Indian film actress and model who appears mainly in  Telugu ,  Tamil ,  Malayalam , and  Kannada  films. Early life [ edit ] Catherine was born to Malayali Frank Mario Alexander and Tresa Alexander in  Dubai . [1]  She said, "I don't speak fluent Malayalam, it's mostly English that we speak at home. I speak decent Hindi though and now I'm taking lessons in Telugu". [2]  She did her Class 12 in Dubai and moved to  Bengaluru  for higher education. She studied for two years in  St Joseph's College, Bengaluru . [3] While studying, she pursued extra-curricular activities. She learnt to play piano, and got trained in singing, dancing, ice skating and debating, [2]  stating that she believes that she is "good at anything I put my mind to". Priyamani  , born and raised in Bangalore, worked as a model before pursuing a career in films. In 2002, she made her acting debut with a leading role in the Telugu film Evare Atagaadu (2003), a box-office flop. Priyamani gained widespread recognition for her role as village girl Muththazhagu in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran in 2007, receiving National Film Award for Best Actress and Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for her performance. During the same year, she achieved commercial success in Telugu cinema with S. S.
